lieu de mémoire “Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don’t plan it. Don’t wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men’s store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee.” -Agent Dale Cooper, Twin Peaks
early-onset-of-night:

“When a former boyfriend and I were homeless, the Salvation Army refused to help us unless we broke up and left the ‘sinful homosexual lifestyle’ behind. We slept on the street and they didn’t help when we declined to break up at their insistence. I’ve seen the discrimination the Salvation Army preaches first hand.”

A House Made from Bookshelves Is So Much Better Than A House Made From E-Books via Gizmodo
Say what you will about the death of print and the space hogging nature of physical books, cause I know this much: I’d rather live in this bookshelf house and thumb through pages than a house with Kindle-lined walls.
The homeowner wanted his house, located in Osaka, Japan, to be able to store and showcase all his books on Islamic History. The architectural team that built the house made sure the stairs, windows, desks, etc. were in “geometrical harmony” with the shelving on the walls. Squares, squares and more squares is pretty harmonious I guess.
